How Miles Hummer Terrain Came About.

I never set out to become the founder and CEO of Miles Hummer Terrain. If anything, this business was born out of one of the lowest points in my life.

Years ago, when I was living in Texas, I owned my very first Hummer. That truck meant everything to me. It wasn’t just metal and wheels — it was my pride, my hard work, my statement that I was moving forward in life. Every time I drove it, I felt strong.

But life has a way of humbling you.

Financial pressure started building up. Bills were stacking faster than I could handle. Opportunities were limited, and I found myself completely broke with no clear way out. I tried to hold on as long as I could, but eventually reality hit me hard. I remember standing in front of my Hummer, thinking about my options, knowing that whatever decision I made next would change everything.

Selling it whole wouldn’t even cover what I needed.

So I did something that hurt deeply — I dismantled it. Piece by piece. Bolt by bolt. I turned my pride into parts and started selling them just to survive. It wasn’t glamorous. It wasn’t exciting. It was survival mode. Every part I removed felt like I was tearing apart a dream.

But something unexpected happened.

The parts sold quickly. People were constantly looking for reliable, affordable Hummer components. Calls kept coming in. Messages kept coming in. I started realizing something important: while a whole Hummer might be expensive, its individual parts were valuable and in demand.

That moment changed my perspective completely.

What I did out of desperation started looking like an opportunity. After I made a reasonable amount of money from selling those parts, I made a decision that would shape my future — instead of giving up, I would turn this into a business. I began buying Hummers one by one. Some were damaged, some were old, some were barely running. I would bring them in, carefully dismantle them, and resell the parts.

Every dollar I made went back into the business. No investors. No big loans. Just consistency, long nights, scraped knuckles, and determination. I learned everything through experience — inventory management, customer relationships, shipping logistics, pricing, negotiation. I built trust with customers by being honest and reliable.

By 2014, what started as a desperate hustle officially became something bigger. I opened my very own wreck yard in Texas. I still remember the feeling of seeing my name attached to something I built from nothing. That yard wasn’t just a business location — it was proof that hard times can create strong foundations.

As demand continued to grow, I knew I had to expand. I later moved to North Carolina to position the business for greater reach and opportunity. From there, I began shipping Hummer parts to customers across different states. What started locally began spreading nationwide.

Miles Hummer Terrain wasn’t built from luxury or comfort — it was built from struggle, risk, faith, and resilience. It came from a moment where I had nothing left but a choice to either quit or adapt.

I chose to adapt.

Looking back now, wrecking my first Hummer wasn’t the end of my story. It was the beginning. Sometimes you have to break something apart to discover what it’s truly worth — and sometimes your lowest point becomes the foundation of your greatest achievement.
